Downloading Baseline QP™ Code

The Generally Available (GA) release contains QEP, QF, QK, and QS components.

To install the QP code, you first need to download the GA release. Next, you create a directory into which you want to install Quantum Platform software, for example, qpc for QP/C, qpcpp for QP/C++, and qpn for QP-nano. Finally, you uncompress the downloaded ZIP file(s) in the installation directory, starting from the GA release, followed by any Quantum Development Kits (QDKs) or ports. At this point you can delete the original ZIP archives.

Downloading and Installing the QDKs™

The standard distribution of QP components available on this web page contains only the baseline code (the GA release) that potentially needs to be adapted to various compilers, operating systems, and microprocessor architectures. Adapting QP software is called porting and all QP components have been designed from ground up to make the porting easy.

A large, steadily growing number of Quantum Development Kits™ (QDKs) are available from the the Downlods/QDKs page. These development kits are designed to "plug-into" the directory structure already established after the installation of the QP baseline code.

 NOTE:
Each QDK contains only the the software dependent on the particular processor, operating system, or the compiler, but does NOT contain the portable QP baseline code. In other words, you need to install the QP baseline code, before you install any port.

The Application Note "QP Directory Structure" describes in detail the new structure of the directories and files used in the baseline QP distributions (starting from version 3.1.xx) and the various ports of QP components.

Downloading the Documentation

Starting from version 3.4.01, the Generally Available (GA) release contains one consolidated Programmer's Manual for the Quantum Platform (QEP, QF, QK, and QS).

Additionally, an HTML-based Reference Manual for all Quantum Platform components are available for download and as an online resource. The HTML Reference Manuals are generated from the source code by means of the Doxygen documentation system.

Documentation for the QP ports is provided on the QDK-page. The documentation page contains extensive Application Notes and other information.
